President & Chief Executive Officer
Larry Birch, LMHC

Before coming to The Grove in 2001, Larry Birch was the President/CEO at First Step of Sarasota for 10 years. He has dedicated his career to substance abuse treatment and administration as well as having had private consulting and treatment practices. He has also been an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Florida, University of Tampa and Florida Institute of Technology. Mr. Birch has taken on leadership roles on numerous Local, State and National Associations, Boards, Societies, Committees and Task Forces. He is also a graduate of Leadership Seminole, Class of 2003. Mr. Birch received his Masters degree in Psychology from California State University and is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor by the State of Florida.

Vice President of The Academy, Prevention, Intervention, & Outpatient Services
Anthony Schefstad, PhD, LCSW

At The Grove, Tony Schefstad is responsible for all Outpatient Services, Prevention Programs, Adolescent Residential (The Academy) and Drug Court. Dr. Schefstad has a strong background in substance abuse treatment and has been nationally interviewed and published as a result of his expertise. Dr. Schefstad received his PhD and Master's in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. He obtained his MA in Guidance and Counseling and his BA in Sociology at Rollins College. As an Adjunct Professor at Rollins College and the University of Central Florida, Dr. Schefstad continues to share his knowledge with students and the community.

Corporate Vice President
Jennifer Small

As Corporate Vice President, Ms. Small is responsible for overseeing the Corporate Division Departments, including: Finance, Information Services, Quality Assurance, Development (encompassing Public Relations, Marketing/Advertising, Fundraising, and Political Involvement), Human Resources, and Managed Care/Treatment Services. Ms. Small is an honors graduate from Stetson University. She is a Board of Director for the Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association, serves as an Ambassador for the Seminole Regional Chamber of Commerce, and is a graduate of Leadership Seminole Class of 2006. Additionally, she is a member of the Lake Mary Rotary and the Society of Human Resource Management.
