Tobacco 411

This four-hour program educates youth about the short-term and long-term consequences of tobacco use. The program is approved by the Seminole County Courts and is designed to help young smokers re-evaluate their decision to use tobacco products. Tobacco 411 fulfills the education requirement for minor tobacco offenders, put in place by Florida Statute 569.11.
Developed by the American Lung Association of Central Florida and The Grove, this program combines the expertise of both agencies to provide an outstanding tobacco education program.
Topics covered include:
  • Health and social consequences of tobacco use
  • Social influences
  • Peer norms
  • Addiction as a disease
  • Refusal skills and techniques
  • Resources for quitting
Classes take place roughly every two months at our Longwood location, on a Wednesday afternoon from 3:30 to 7:30pm. The cost to attend is $30. A certificate of completion will be issued to each student upon completion of the course.
