Free Summer Camp in Sanford

Saturday, April 21, 2012

Sunshine Grove is a summer camp for students entering grades 1 through 6. We combine caring instructors, evidence-based wellness education, and lively community guests to create an unforgettable experience. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 12:30pm. This camp is provided FREE to families thanks to generous support from the Department of Children and Families and Kiwanis International. A FREE lunch is also included. The address is 401 Pecan Avenue in the Goldsboro neighborhood of Sanford. Please choose between Session A (June 11th to 29th) and Session B (July 9th to 27th). Spots are limited so email or call (407) 588-1147.

For an even better summer, add KidsKonnect Camp from Jewish Family Services, designed for kids entering grades 1 through 6 who are experiencing family disruption at home. Masters Level Counselors work with each group to teach creative coping skills. Activities include arts and crafts, journaling, meditation exercises, positive attitude ball, drama through role play, self-esteem bingo, and popcorn movie time. There is a minimal fee for the KidsKonnect program of $20 per week. Most insurances and Medicaid also accepted.
